Hot Sauce
03:41
|
|||
Hot Sauce burning me up
Hot Sauce You're too much
Hot Sauce you put me to shame
C'mon Hot Sauce do it again
Hot Sauce you're bringing me down
Hot Sauce you spin me around
Hot sauce you take me to town
Fill my ears with a buzzing sound
Hot Sauce I'm running dry
Hot Sauce you make me cry
Hot Sauce I don't know if you're pleasure or pain
C'mon Hot Sauce do it again
Give it to me one more time
Hot Sauce you burn my mouth
Hot Sauce from North to South
Hot Sauce you kick like a Mule
Make me drink a swimming pool
Hot Hot Hot Hot Sauce!!!
She's a Hot Sauce Mama yeah.

Smile Again
04:44
|
|
||
Everybody tells me that you're no good
They laugh behind your back like you was made of wood
Circulating rumours like a virus strain
And leaving dirty marks just like a nasty stain
It's water off your back, your shoulders they are wide
Your skin is thicker than they could ever realise
When you drag your sorry ass up off the floor
That's when I'm gonna see you smile
Do I see you smiling?
Do I see you hiding?
Do I see you standing at your door?
Do I hear you crying?
Do I see you trying?
Cos you can't stand the lying any more.
It's taken too long but it's understood
You can't bear to stay but even if you could
You sometimes have to do the things that you should
That's why I see you smile
Some of them are thinking that it's such a shame
You won't toe the line and play their little game
There's more to life than living every single day
Afraid of what tomorrow brings that's what you say
You got two strong hands
And you still got your mind
They didn't leave you crazy, 'least not all the time
You staked a claim on your own life and walked out the door
That's why I see you smile.

Little Mary
04:48
|
|
||
'He / She' is sitting in the carriage today
If it's man or woman I just could not say
She's either an ugly woman or a pretty man
But with legs like that I couldn't give a damn
She's got hands like a builders & elbows like mine
In the dark or at a distance she might look fine
But the devil's in the detail not the surgeons blade
And the way that she walks says that she's 'Man-Made'
The girl that I call 'Gobshite' is on the telephone
Doesn't seem to care if her business is known
She broadcasts every word through the length of the train
But every day the subject is always the same
She doesn't seem to have a life that you could describe
She just recycles gossip from the 'Metro' headlines
Oh she could be a Nazi if she thought it was cool
But for now she's just a gobshite and somebody's fool
'...Little Mary won't set the world on fire....'
Fat and sweating businessmen search for a seat
And every day I'm praying they won't sit next to me
It looks like I'm unlucky as one settles down
A broadsheet and computer and a dripping frown
Only god above knows how they get that way
Expense accounts must take a pasting every day
The trolley man must mint it from the North to the South
As my travelling companion shoves his wares down his mouth
'...Little Mary won't set the world on fire....'
Yeah, come on....come on, come on, come on.

Tomorrow Never Comes
04:21
|
|
||
I don't mean to turn your decision round
I'm not trying to put you down
All I wanna do is say
What I got in mind and go my way
I can travel a thousand miles tomorrow
Or the very next day
I could be gone
I could be free
I know the math I done my sums
I could be out of here this time tomorrow
But tomorrow never comes
My buddy told me to kick back and relax
Over a couple of beers I faced the facts
All I want to do is go
My mind's made up I'm telling you so
I can be a continent away tomorrow
On a plane or on a boat
I know the rules and I surmise
They are for the obedience of fools and guiding the wise
I should pity you and not despise
You cannot change direction
Stuck on a one-track life

Cloudcatcher
05:01
|
|
||
Thinking back upon my childhood days
Everything so simple, clouds would seldom rain
We're walking down the street, my hand in yours so sweet
The path is strewn with leaves, the air is fresh and clean
The world is moving faster now I see
And it has turned more times than I believe
Do you remember I ran?
The chase the clouds...I can
But now that I'm a man I just chase them where I stand
Is it the wind that's blowing those clouds?
Or the earth below that's turning around?
It's one of the other's all i understand
I want to catch one if I can
I would take one home and show it to my friends
I'd keep it in my room til evening ends
And then I'd set it free
Back to the sky released
As it sailed off through the trees I'd watch it kissing falling leaves.
Thinking back upon my childhood days
Everything so simple, clouds would seldom rain
Do you remember I ran?
The chase the clouds...I can
Now that I'm a man I just chase them where I stand

Song Without A Chorus
04:53
|
|
||
Feel like I went to work without my trousers on today
As the center of attraction I didn't know what to say
I'm a master of the small-talk and words to the wise
I can keep my own council if I have to sometimes
When your heart says one thing and your mouth says another
Smoothing down the feathers when you really shouldn't bother
I got home to an empty house without problems without fuss
And I'm writing these words to a song without a chorus...
God knows where it comes from but a song is taking form
Like a scene behind a fog-bank in an early morning dawn
I don't know how I do it just a habit that I got
Making something out of nothing and I can't make it stop
I get an inspiration from my imagination
And a crisis of confidence that it's just a duplication
But I've never heard a song that has been sung thus
So I'm writing these words to a song without a chorus

Nasty Little Habit
05:40
|
|
||
She has a nasty little habit & it's something she can't break
I've seen it force its way between us why won't she stop for heaven's sake
I've seen the shakes are getting stronger
I've seen the way she looks sometimes
But all her friends don't seem to notice
She's losing control cos they're all blind
It's such a nasty little habit
The truth is there to find
Such a nasty little habit
It's gonna break us up this time
She had a furtive look about her when she left to visit the store
When she returned an hour later she didn't look like that any more
And so I ask her what's the problem,
I take it easy take it slow
I get a vague excuse and story
But it's all lies and we both know
It's such a nasty little habit
The truth is there to find
Such a nasty little habit
It's gonna break us up this time
I don't understand it
I can't stand it
I don't want no more of this
She won't break it
I just can't take it
This is something I won't miss

How Things Get Done
03:18
|
|
||
She does the horizontal Rumba, She loves to dip you in a Salsa
She takes you through a vertical cha-cha
That's how she got the job
She'll ride you in a passionate Tango
She's lethal as a poisonous Mambo
An actress in a beautiful Bolero that's how she kept the job
That's how things get done round here
She winds the clock of your fixation
Just below the level of predation
Not above a little degradation that's how she keeps the job
Stiffens resolve when spirits are flagging
Don't pay attention when the tongues are wagging
Says it's OK when the flesh is sagging
That's how she keeps the job
That's how things get done round here
You could call her a cat on a hot tin roof
Not burdened with brains but she's gifted with youth
THAT's wasted on the young, now 'aint that the truth
That's just the way it goes
One day she'll be another loser on the slide
With eyes that are faded and hips just too wide
Just a matter of waiting for the turn of the tide
And I'm waiting, and I'm watching ...
That's how things get done round here

Nothing That You Say
04:06
|
|
||
I am listening to words that you say
They don't mean that much to me
There is no meaning, not a single trace
In what you're proposing any way
Do you hear me? I don't know what you're saying
Give me something real
Something I can feel
Give me something to end this ordeal
You open up your mouth
Truth is heading South
Nothing that you say means anything
Words can be tools when used the right way
But they are weapons when you speak
Used like a dagger between my shoulderblades
Every minute, hour, day or week.
Do you hear me? I don't know what you're saying
Nothing that you say means anything to me

Take The Blame
05:11
|
|
||
Oh this world is hard on some of us
It throws us out of joint
And it will sometimes pile the pressure
Through the breaking-point
We retreat with broken wings
Inside an angry shell
And disbelieve that this could happen to anybody else
But I won't let the world take the blame
Oh time's the greatest thief of all
It cheats at every turn
We pretend it's otherwise
We refuse to learn
With every breath we take
We act like breathing is a right
And hold an angry fist toward the never-ending night
But I won't let the world take the blame
If Human dignity is worth anything at all
It is worth remembering that we rise before we fall
Let us stand together
And together stand tall, stand tall
But I won't let the world take the blame

Don't put Bertie on the stage
For fear he'll turn out 'strange'
If you want Grandchildren don't put Bertie on the Stage
Put him in the Army if you can
To kill people in foreign lands
You can be sure there's nothing more to make the boy a man
He could join the Royal Air Force
But not the Navy, for of course
It has the reputation I have heard
For getting seamen out of boys, so....
Don't put Bertie on the stage
For fear he'll turn out 'strange'
If you want Grandchildren don't put Bertie on the Stage
