Letting Me Out

from When Black Holes Converge by Kevin Blight

/

about

I was very moved by a TV documentary by Louis Theroux. There was a guy in jail for multiple crimed of murder called David Silva. I wrote this song as if in his shoes. If I was him I would probably just have ended it all. I don't believe he will ever be released.

lyrics

They clipped my wings so I can't fly
They caged me up so I won't try
They chained my feet so I won't run
Put me in a place I can't see the Sun
But one way or another they're letting me out
(Maybe I'll find some forgiveness)
Letting me out, letting me out of here

Don't take no Judge to say I was wrong
All I need to know was the sentence was long
I was just a kid when I took that life
Maybe we'll meet up soon on the other side
But one way or another they're letting me out
(Maybe I'll find some forgiveness)
Letting me out, letting me out of here

Letting me out, letting me out of here...
